From the 1920s Allahabad bazaar

Rasa-e-Lazzat carries a merchant-family kitchen. In 1920s Allahabad, the family traded whole spices — cardamom, clove, saffron — long before the recipes became heirlooms. Partition carried those stores to Pakistan; years in Saudi Arabia layered Arab warmth into South Asian heat. That lineage is now cooked in Kuala Lumpur, one sealed pot at a time.

Allahabad → Pakistan → Saudi Arabia → Malaysia

Merchant-family spice trade in the Allahabad bazaars: whole cardamom, clove, and saffron bought by the sack, ground at home, and cooked into the first sealed pots the household still remembers.

Migration carried the masala tin to Pakistan, then to Saudi Arabia — where Arab hospitality and South Asian heat met. Dum cooking slowed further; pickles matured longer; the family palate became a fusion, never a compromise.
